FSMD has been training corporates for 25 years in the UK and overseas. The focus of most training programmes has been about understanding principles of risk identification, risk-return, funding, cost of capital and capital structure.
The training constituency has been largely professionals working in financial management, treasury, business planning, accounting and audit, as well as staff in interface roles such as commercial management and IT.
FSMD directors have worked with the Association of Corporate Treasurers (the ACT) since its inception as educational advisers, authors of training material and examiners.
FSMD runs two open courses for corporates. Understanding Corporate Treasury is about the fundamentals of corporate treasury management. The course is intended for new entrants to the function. It focuses on the links between the business model and corporate treasury strategies for risk and funding management.
Advanced Financial Modelling with Excel is intended for staff in corporate finance, treasury and business planning who need to know how to model the evaluation of past performance, forward projections and acquisitions.
Tailored versions of these two courses are also run for individual clients. Typical examples of other bespoke courses are Corporate Finance and Evaluation, Project Appraisal and Corporate Credit Assessment.
Workshop skills in best practice Excel corporate financial modelling has been the main focus of FSMD’s work in Software Services with corporates.
